NSC is for single adults aged 21 or over who are looking for marriage.
Be honest about who you are, and treat everyone with respect.
Never ask another member for money, and never share someone's private information, including their Private Circle membership.
We review every profile and can pause or remove anyone who breaks these rules.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and NaijaSinglesConnect ("NSC", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use NSC.
2. Who can join
You can use NSC if all of these are true:
You are at least 21 years old.
You are single: never married, divorced, widowed, or legally separated and free to marry under the law that applies to you.
You are looking for a relationship that leads to marriage.
You have not been convicted of a violent or sexual offence, and you have not been removed from NSC before.
NSC welcomes people of every faith, Nigerians at home and abroad, and people of any nationality who hope to marry a Nigerian.
3. Your account
Give accurate, current information about yourself, including your marital status, children and genotype, and keep it up to date.
Use only photos of yourself that you have the right to use. No photos of children on their own, and no nudity.
One person, one account. Don't create an account for someone else or share your login.
Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
4. Profile review
A member of our team reads every new profile, photo and receipt before the profile goes live. We may approve it, ask you to make changes, or decline it, for example if it looks fake, incomplete or not serious about marriage. We decide at our discretion and may not always give detailed reasons. Approval isn't a background check: we don't verify identity documents, criminal records or marital status, so please take the care described in section 8.
5. Membership fees
Creating your account and building your profile is free. To be reviewed and see your matches, you pay a membership fee. The amount and how to pay are shown in your dashboard before you pay. If you have a question about a payment or would like a refund, message our team from your dashboard and we will deal with it fairly and as required by Nigerian consumer protection law.
6. Community standards
NSC only works if everyone can trust each other. You must not:
Ask any member for money, gifts, bank details or financial help, or offer them business or investment opportunities.
Harass, threaten, insult, pressure or stalk anyone, or keep contacting someone who has declined or blocked you.
Send sexual messages or images, or messages that are hateful about anyone's religion, ethnicity, nationality, health or background.
Lie about who you are, your age, your marital status or your intentions, or pretend to be someone else.
Share another member's photos, messages or personal details outside NSC without their permission.
Use NSC for advertising, recruitment, sex work or anything illegal.
Copy, scrape or automate access to NSC, or try to get around our security.
If someone breaks these rules, report them from their profile or your conversation. Our team reviews every report.
7. Private Circle
The Private Circle is an optional space for members living with HIV. If you join, you're matched only with other circle members. By joining you confirm that you are living with HIV.
Discretion is a condition of membership. You must never reveal, hint at or share, inside or outside NSC, that another person is a member of the Private Circle or living with HIV, unless they have clearly given you permission. Doing so is a serious breach of these terms and may also be unlawful, including under the HIV and AIDS (Anti-Discrimination) Act 2014. We will remove anyone who does this, and may cooperate with the authorities.
8. Your safety
We work hard to keep NSC safe, but you are responsible for your own decisions about the people you meet. Please:
Keep conversations on NSC until you feel comfortable, and never send money to someone you've met online.
Meet for the first time in a public place, tell a friend or family member where you're going, and arrange your own transport.
Talk openly about genotype, health and family plans before making commitments.
Report anything that worries you. If you are in danger, contact the police or emergency services first.
9. Your content
You own the photos and words you add to NSC. You give us permission to store them and show them to other members as described in our Privacy policy and your privacy settings, only to run NSC. We won't use your photos in advertising without asking you first. You can remove your content at any time by editing your profile or closing your account.
The NSC name, logo, design and software belong to us. Please don't copy them.
10. Pausing and closing accounts
You can ask us to close your account at any time by messaging our team from your dashboard.
We may pause or close your account, remove content, or decline to approve you if you break these terms, if we receive credible reports about you, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
11. What we can't promise
We can't promise that you'll find a partner, that any member is who they say they are, or that NSC will always be available without interruption. Compatibility scores are a guide based on the answers members give, not a guarantee. NSC is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows.
12. Liability
We are not responsible for how other members behave, on or off NSC. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we have a disagreement, we will first try to resolve it with you informally through our support team. If that doesn't work, the courts of Nigeria will have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as NSC grows. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in your dashboard before it takes effect. If you keep using NSC after that, you accept the updated terms.
